Red’s Porch is a beloved Austin spot, but did you know there’s TWO locations?! Red’s Porch at the Quarry is spacious, beautiful and overlooks the small lake in North Austin. I tried some of their classic + new menu items and was delighted by all of it!

You know this gal started off with loaded queso. If queso is on the menu, I am getting it. No questions asked. We were also told to order the street tacos. I was hesitant because I know where good tacos are in town… I WAS SO WRONG. These street tacos were so stupid good and I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about them. The chefs smoke the meat in house and they serve two carnitas, two brisket, and two shrimp tacos with various house made sauces and pickled onions! I can’t rave about these enough because they are SO DING DANG GOOD.

Their ahi tuna salad was delicious and refreshing. The tuna was perfectly seared and it’s paired with a big pile of greens, tomatoes, roasted corn, carrots and pickled onions. Yum!

We barely had any room left in our tummies, but we ordered their manimal burger with fries + chicken fried chicken with mixed veggies and mashers. The cheeseburger is loaded with melted cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions and slathered with 1000 island dressing. It might sound like clogged arteries, but it isn’t as heavy as you’d think (plus it is DEEEELICIOUS). Also that chicken fried chicken is not for the faint of heart. It is HUGE and covered in rich gravy – definitely enough for two meals (and oh so tasty).

Red’s Porch also has monthly drink specials, like the Lost in Atlanta with Maker’s Mark, Mathilde Peach liqueur & unsweet tea, the Mango Rita with Sauza Blue Tequila, Patrón Citronge Mango, splash of mango purée w/ fresh juices. Served on the rocks, and the Quarry Blue with Western Son Gin, Housemade Blueberry Simple Syrup, Ginger Beer & Lime. You pretty much can’t go wrong with any of them! My favourite drink was the Lemon Squeezy made with Tito’s Vodka, St. Germain, mint, fresh squeezed lemon and topped with champagne.
