If you’re looking for a new high rise to stay at in downtown Austin, Hyatt Centric should be at the top of your list! I was recently hosted here and had the most delightful stay. Even though it’s in the heart of downtown, my floor on the 23rd floor was incredibly quiet and peaceful!

I love the cozy but modern style of the rooms and the floor to ceiling windows were so luxurious. Lots of great amenities in the hotel plus two INCREDIBLE restaurants!

About Las Bis:

Tinned fish, caviar, and cocktails galore at this beautiful rooftop bar with tons of indoor and outdoor seating!

@lasbisbaratx is not only a gorgeous setting for a drink or two but they’re serious with their outstanding bar snacks. I suggest ordering one or two for a light snack, or several items for a whole feast like we did!

food:
– lobster knuckle sandwich
– abc sardine brava
– clams casino flatbread
– smoked tuna melt
– caviar with chicharonnes, quail eggs, crèma, and tomatillo relish

drinks:
– brand pflaz rosé
– azimut grenache orange wine
– float your boat
– pier pressure
– thyme to shine
– here all night

I loved every bite (how could you not?) but the smoked caviar and the tinned fish were my faves!

Las Bis is located on the 8th floor of the @hyattcentricaustinnestled next to the paramount theatre so it’s the best stop before or after a show!

ps bring your kiddos and order fries from the downstairs restaurant @luminairerestaurantatx … but for you as well bc when you throw some caviar on it, you get a true culinary delight!

About Luminaire:

This was my second time having brunch at @luminairerestaurantatx this summer and they truly have some of the best dishes in town. I particularly love that they start serving weekend brunch at 8am since I’m an early bird. I can guarantee you that there’s something you’ll love on their unique menu.

What I tried (and loved) this visit:
– torrijas: french toast with sherry berries and cardamom cream
– baked eggs en piperade: pancetta, roasted peppers, tomatoes, rustic bread
– steak and eggs: salsa verde, spiced fingerling potatoes, tortillas
– avocado toastie: on sourdough (or GF bread) with jamon and radishes

I highly recommend making a brunch visit at @luminairerestaurantatx asap! They take reservations and you can find them on the floor level of @hyattcentricaustin right next to @paramountaustin

UPDATE 3/29/2024: They have a new chef and new restaurant concept in the former Luminaire and Las Bis spots.
