You know when a restaurant has been around for a few years and it’s on your “list” to try but you never get around to it? Well, Geraldine’s was on my list but I finally tried it last weekend and I’m SO glad I did. I wasn’t sure what to expect, because sometimes upscale, small plate restaurants can be questionable. I was 100% in love with Geraldine’s by the time I left. The restaurant is very intimate and dimly lit, as you’ll see in the pictures below!

We started out with some drinks – I ordered the herbal g&t and Joel ordered the 24 carat magic. Sooo yummy.

This is the ramen egg with crispy noodles and a coconut soy broth – as beautiful as it was delicious.

The shrimp hushpuppies were the perfect mix of fluffy, rich, and crispy. The paired remoulade was tasty too!

This is the braised beef egg roll with pickled veggies and it was my favourite thing of the night.  The flavor was amazing and it was surprisingly filling! I’d absolutely order this again.

I needed another cocktail and ordered this beauty – Tangled Up In Blue. The blueberry-mint shrub mixed with gin was so fabulous! Pictured behind it is the Dewberry Farm Fried Chicken with a masa & potato cake, pico de gallo and green chile hollandaise. It was super filling and I’d order this again any time of the year!

Last but certainly not least was the almond tart with fresh lavender cream and fresh berries. Joel and I were SO full but we devoured this because it was just that good. I can’t wait for my next visit to Geraldine’s! Rumour has it they are rolling out a new social hour soon!
