I’ve been an ambassador for Lucky Robot this year and have had the pleasure of visiting monthly to try out their delicious Japanese cuisine. One of my favourite things about them (besides their excellent cuisine) is their passion for seafood sustainability. I’ve enjoyed sooo many amazing things on the menu and I’m here to report my absolute faves!

Lucky Robot is continually supporting sustainable programs like Time Out For Tuna – every Tuesday they serve everything BUT tuna. When they do serve tuna, it’s only ever line caught Hawaiian Bigeye. You can read more about their sustainability efforts here!

Chirashi Bot
Tuna, salmon, amberjack, striped bass sashimi over sushi rice, avocado, english cucumber, daikon pickles, sesame and 144 degree egg

Kanpachi
Smoked kanpachi, early summer corn, blueberries, tiger’s milk kewpie, roasted nori oil

Sea3-po Roll
Bigeye tuna, avocado, cucumber, topped with ora king salmon, with green onion, spicy mayo and panko togarashi

Tacuyaki (my favourite hot dish)
Pork belly, adzuki bean onigiri, aji panca, choclo, carrots, farm-to-table sunomono, and ponzu verde sauce

Veggiepillar (my favorite vegetarian dish)
miso grilled eggplant, sesame, pickled cucumber and carrot, topped with avocado and serrano, yuzu miso sauce

The tacuyaki and veggiepillar literally make me soooo happy!

Chef’s Choice Sashimi Moriwase
It’s always presented beautifully on ice!

Chicken Karaage
Fried koji chicken thighs, white onion, ponzu verde (it’s like liquid gold) and togarashi

Kona Kona Roll
Hawaiian amberjack, avocado, green onion, crispy shallots, yuzu miso, lemongrass soy, cilantro and lime

Spinach & Tofu Dumplings (NOT gluten free!)
Cashew cheese, candied cashews, cilantro and red curry

Chef’s Choice Nigiri Moriwase
Renkodal, aji, hachibiki, sawara and niji masu – I remember absolytely loving every one of these seasonal fishes

Rising Sun 2.0 
Pork belly (I like to sub salmon!) sunny-side up egg, radish, compressed pickled apple, mustard seed, charred scallion vinaigrette, crispy garlic and rice

Chiki Toro
Bigeye tuna, cured pork lardo, negi
