I am so excited to bring to you a guide for the Best Pizza in Austin! There are quite a few (ok, about a million) pizza spots in Austin. I’ve narrowed it down by popular vote and organized it by the area of town. Did I leave anything out? Please let me know and I’ll make sure to add it! Don’t forget to take a look at the entire City Guide here.

DOWNTOWN:

We all know the classics like Home Slice and Roppolo’s but some new spots have brought amazing pies to the scene: Italic, Il Forte, and Numero28 bring classic Neapolitan pies as well.

Home Slice: 1415 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
Roppolo’s: 316 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78701
Italic: 123 W 6th St, Austin, TX 78701
Il Forte: 800 Brazos #215 Entrance on 8th st. between brazos & congress, Austin, TX 78701
Numero28: 2nd Street District, 452 W 2nd St, Austin, TX 78701

WEST AUSTIN:

Tony C’s and Stanley’s Farmhouse are also fan favourites but The Grove Wine Bar and Kitchen and BackDraft also bring some competition to the table. The Grove has three locations in Austin (Westlake, Lakeway, and Downtown) while BackDraft is located on 620 and boasts a brick oven for delicious pizzas!

Tony C’s: 12800 Hill Country Blvd, Bee Cave, TX 78738
Stanley’s Farmhouse: Ceres Park Ranch, 13187 Fitzhugh Rd, Austin, TX 78736
The Grove: 800 W 6th St #100, Austin, TX 78701
BackDraft: 3595 Ranch Rd 620 S, Austin, TX 78738

EAST AUSTIN:

Unit-D Pizzeria came into the scene last year with a bang – they’re known for their high quality ingredients and intimate dining space. King Bee Lounge on 12th also brings some uniqueness – order your pizza at the bar with a drink and get ready for a delicious pie that changes with the seasons!

Unit-D: : 2406 Manor Rd D, Austin, TX 78722
King Bee: 1906 E 12th St, Austin, TX 78702

NORTH AUSTIN:

Head a little north and you’ll find some amazing eats like the pies from Mia Italian Tapas (a fan favourite) and soon to be open PS35 brought to Round Rock by the owners of 40 North.

Mia Italian Tapas: 11420 Rock Rose #120, Austin, TX 78758
PS 35: 1500 N Interstate Hwy 35, Round Rock, TX 78681

SOUTH AUSTIN:

Fan favourites include Cane Rosso, Toss Pizzeria, and Aviator Pizza – all  new to town! Pieous is also a popular spot – head Southwest to get these amazing Neapolitan pies! The ABGB is also a classic stop to get a ‘za – get a pint of their delicious in-house beer while you’re there.

Cane Rosso: 4715 S Lamar Blvd #103, Sunset Valley, TX 78745
Toss Pizzeria: 2901 S 1st St #102, Austin, TX 78704
Aviator: 6501 S Congress Ave #1-105, Austin, TX 78745
Pieous: 12005 W Hwy 290, Austin, TX 78737
The ABGB: 1305 W Oltorf St, Austin, TX 78704

NORTH CENTRAL AUSTIN:

This is where the competition gets tough. There are A LOT of great spots in this part of town. The newest pizzeria’s include Desano Pizzeria and Rebel Pizza Bar – Desano’s brings true authentic Italian pies with ingredients imported from Italy straight to Texas. Rebel brings a fun and hip bar + restaurant with graffiti art covering their walls. Little Deli and Pizza and Mandola’s are classics that have been around for several years with incredible large thin crust pies that Austinites love.

Desano: 8000 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78757
Rebel Pizza Bar: 7858 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin, TX 78757
Little Deli: 7101 Woodrow Ave, Austin, TX 78757
Mandola’s: 4700 W Guadalupe St #12, Austin, TX 78751

Now… for my personal thoughts:

I love pizza. I almost made my entire blog about pizza because I am that obsessed. It was hard to make a top five but I managed to do it:

5. Little Deli – there is something about their neighborhood spot, small space, and massive pizzas that gives me so much joy. It’s also one block away from where my boyfriend lives so I frequent it often. Also, more places should sell by the slice – it’s something I love about them!

4. Pinthouse Pizza – their atmosphere, selection of beers, and lunchtime specials have me going back over and over again. There is something about their crust that makes me not leave even the smallest bit behind. It’s. So. Good.

3. House Pizzeria – A truly underrated spot with some of the best pies I’ve ever had. It’s a very small cozy spot on Airport and 51st with incredibly reasonably priced pizzas. Their ingredients, their crust, and their customer service… I’ve never had a single thing to complain about here!

2. VIA 313 – one of the few places in Austin that knows how to do a pizza other than thin crust. Their Detroit style pies are something that everyone who lives in or visits Austin needs to have. They also have great creative, seasonal pies! That buttery thick crust is sooo stinkin good that I think I need one, like, tonight. Luckily they have four locations – two food trucks and two sit-down restaurants.

  1. Homeslice – It’s been around for ages, it’s classic, and it’s just so damn delicious. I remember my freshman year at St. Edward’s and the first time I tried Homeslice. I had never tasted such incredibly made pizzas. They give generously to charities, host incredible events, and have some pretty rad workers. I’ve been a loyal customer since then, and in my book, there is nothing that Homeslice can do wrong. Also, they’re opening up another location soon – can I get an AMEN?!

If this list hasn’t convinced you how good the pizza in Austin can be… take a look at the pictures below!
