WINE PEOPLE.
Let’s talk about this incredible winery with 100% Texas grown grapes in each and every one of their wines.

Wedding oak wine started in 2016 and they’ve quickly become an award-winning winery for their very special and phenomenal Texas-made wine. They have three different tasting rooms and I visited their winery and tasting room in Fredericksburg, Texas.
So let’s talk about these wines. The first one I had was the sweetheart rosé, which is a blend of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, and Merlot. It was perfectly balanced a little dry with some beautiful floral notes. it’s one of those rosés that’s hard to put down when you have a glass.
The next wine I had was the Castanet 2022 which is a double gold awarded rosé and I loved this one so much I bought a bottle to take home with me! It had some peachy stone fruit notes, but I really loved it because it was a little bit on the funky side. It wasn’t a typical floral rosé.

The next wine in our tasting was the Regency Bridge 2019 and all of these grapes in the wine are grown in the High Plains here in Texas. It was a beautiful, medium body rustic, dry red.

Sidenote, there are eight different regions in Texas where wine is grown, and much of the wine for this winery is produced in the High Plains region.

Next we had Tioja, which is their flagship red made with Tempranillo. It was very smoky and full bodied. it wasn’t my favorite because most Tempranillos aren’t my favorite but I still really enjoyed it.

Then, we had Red Wind, which was unbelievably smooth, and a Bordeaux style blend of wine made with Cabernet and Merlot. There was lots of beautiful blueberry notes in this one.

Then we had the Harmony Ridge 2018 – I got a lot of leather and toffee notes with Malbec, Mourvedre and Cabernet Sauvignon as a few of the grape varietals. This wine is aged 24 months and neutral french oak. Another beautiful wine!

Last, but definitely not least was one of the reserved wines, which are typically only given to the wine club members. 100% Tannat from the High Plains. It’s hard to describe, but it was so beautifully created, well balanced, but also bold, and a really great representation of Texas wines.

I highly recommend checking out Wedding Oak Winery if you’re in Texas or you can also check out their website and get wine shipped to you. I truly fell in love with this place, their wine, the wine makers and their story, and you can really feel the respect and love that they have for both Texas and Texas wine.❤️

Thanks to their team and Bigthirstmarketing for hosting me!!
